Difficulties in the job market for secretarial professionals

The general aim of this book is to show the difficulties encountered by Executive Secretarial (ES) professionals in entering the job market. To this end, a qualitative study was carried out, with in-depth interviews with Executive Secretarial professionals and Human Resources managers. After analyzing the data, it was found that the difficulties faced by ES professionals in entering the job market are: Lack of vacancies for ES in public tenders, scarcity of vacancies in the private sector; lack of adequate remuneration for the profession; lack of recognition by managers; lack of knowledge of duties and also, a demanding, competitive market.

Antonia Aline Rodrigues has a Bachelor's degree in Trilingual Executive Secretariat from UFRR (2014). She is the Director's Secretary in the Budget and Finance Division at FEMARH. Jaqueline Silva da Rosa is a PhD student in Administration (UNISINOS). She has a Master's degree in Administration and specializes in Biocentric Education and Organizational and Work Psychology. She is a permanent lecturer at UFRR.
