DIGITAL AIDS IN PROSTHODONTICS
Details
Advances in digital technology have greatly improved dental diagnosis, treatment outcomes, and patient care. Digital technology has impacted patient motivation, practice management, and clinical treatment procedures. The contemporary dental practice has endless options for preserving oral health and providing natural aesthetics with an enhanced approach, reduced treatment time, minimized error potential, and better quality assurance. Digitization has become part and parcel of contemporary prosthodontics. The adoption of new treatment protocols to fabricate dentures with computer-aided technology will be no exception to controversy. However, current commercial protocols should be improved and validated through sound clinical and laboratory research. Future clinical research on CAD/CAM dentures should adhere to modern concepts of evidence-based dentistry at this inception stage. This book summarizes the current methodologies in this evergrowing field of digital dentistry and how it aids in the specialty of Prosthodontics.
