Digital Literacy and Youths' Political Activism

Political participation is necessary for democratic society where role of educated community (youth) is almost critical. Political participation of general public is called political activism. Information & communication technologies have made social, business and political participation far more easy, quick and universal than practiced before the advent of internet and mobile phones. Digital literacy enables real time communication amongst people to immediately access new information. Interaction, conversation and exchange of information among young community are tantamount to digital revolution. The book is to examine the impact of digital-literacy on the 'youths' participation in Political Activism'. It has the potential to give guideline for researchers working in the same line. It is a local version of the problem which can zoom all those areas where democracy is in its initial stages. It study will catch the attention of political parties, Election Commissions, students and academicians and educated communities. It is a baseline for the policy formulation thereby enabling the public authorities to give due importance to youth as they are future of democratic societies.

El Dr. Abbas obtuvo una maestría (1976) y un doctorado (1980) en Botánica (Fisiología Vegetal) en la A.M.U. Aligarh. Imparte clases a estudiantes de grado y posgrado desde 1980. Actualmente es profesor asociado sénior y presidente del Departamento de Botánica de Posgrado, y cuenta con varias reseñas de libros y 36 artículos de investigación publicados.
