Informationen zum Autor Nasser Kehtarnavaz is Professor of Electrical Engineering at University of Texas at Dallas. He has written numerous papers and five other books pertaining to signal and image processing, and regularly teaches digital signal processing laboratory courses, for which this book is intended. Among his many professional activities, he is Coeditor-in-Chief of Journal of Real-Time Image Processing, and Chair of the Dallas Chapter of the IEEE Signal Processing Society. Dr. Kehtarnavaz is a Fellow of SPIE, a Senior Member of IEEE, and a Professional Engineer. Klappentext

Digital Signal Processing (DSP) has experienced a considerable growth in the last two decades; nowadays, DSP systems such as are in cell phones and high-speed modems have become an integral part of our lives. Any engineer working in communications engineering or image and video processing needs to understand DSP principles; however it is one area that engineers often find difficult because of its mathematical nature. LabView provides an interactive and visual approach to DSP, enabling a more intuitive approach, where complex mathematics can be avoided, to building real signal processing systems. It now includes a new mathScripting feature which enables an engineer to incorporate their MATLAB code into LabView. As most engineers use MATLAB, this new feature expands the market for Labview considerably. Reflecting this development, the book takes a hybrid programming approach where MATLAB code is integrated into LabView's highly interactive and visual environment, enabling the building of complex DSP systems in quick time. It will, therefore, be an ideal source for helping both engineers in industry and students develop complex real-world DSP systems that are an essential component of engineering products.

Zusammenfassung
The hybrid programming approach allows the use of previously developed textual programming solutions to be integrated into LabVIEW's environment, providing an easier method for building DSP systems. This book combines textual and graphical programming to form a hybrid programming approach, enabling an effective means of building DSP systems.
