Digital technologies & education

This book aims to problematise the relationship between digital technologies and education in contemporary times, going beyond the use of these technologies as educational resources. The concept of education adopted by the authors aims to broaden the understanding beyond the school environment, bearing in mind that the formation of subjects and learning processes cannot be confined to this space. The book is not intended to guide teachers in the didactic use of these technologies, but to provide all those interested in education - teachers, but also other professionals who work in schools, young people and children, as well as their parents - with a broader understanding of their effects on ways of being in the world. Understanding what these technologies produce on subjects and society is an essential task for intervening in the educational field. The book presents a series of analyses linked to cyberculture and its connection to the field of education, which are intrinsically interdisciplinary in nature, but are mainly based on authors from the field of Philosophy.

Karla Saraiva has a PhD in Education from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) and works with the PPG in Education at the Lutheran University of Brazil (ULBRA). Carine Loureiro has a PhD in Education from the University of Vale do Rio do Sinos (Unisinos) and works with the PPG in Informatics in Education at IFRS.
