DIPLOMACY OF WAR

War is not an independent phenomenon, but the continuation of politics by different means (Carl Von Clausewitz, Prussian soldier, strategist and intellectual, 1780-1831) The Palestinian-Israel conflict has been going on for over 60 years now. This book uses the diplomacy of war model to provide a comprehensive historical and contemporary analysis of the interplay between major forces pulling the Palestinian Israeli relationship towards both violence and peace. Behind the limited diplomatic success are socio-political, economic and strategic factors at the local, regional and international levels, revealing how competing strategic interests of actors and the dynamic international political considerations exert a strong influence on this conflict.
