Disaster Preparedness in Rural Bangladesh

Cyclone, flood, high tide, tidal surges are the most common phenomenon in Bangladesh. Structural and non structural preparedness mechanisms can found here which are using to minimize losses of mass people due to disasters. Government of Bangladesh has addressed some structural preparedness initiatives/ mechanisms to minimize losses of lives and properties of coastal people. But the most interesting thing is local people have some indigenous and newly adopted techniques which are more sustainable and effective in those areas to save them with their properties. This book is for them who want to know how people living at coastal areas in a developing country like Bangladesh facing disasters and coping with its devastating outputs. This book is also helpful to them who are finding a way out to an integrated, effective and coordinated mechanism to minimize losses of life and property in developing disaster prone countries.
