The study on doctor-patient communication and patient satisfaction has been attracting an increasing amount of attention within health care studies and health communication field over the years. As we know, doctor-patient communication has been studied extensively by scholars from diverse disciplines; however, it is very important to take the cultural perspective into doctor-patient communication research. This book explores different communication styles in different cultures and how it relates to patient satisfaction. It offers readers an opportunity to understand doctor-patient relationship in current China, as well as a cross-cultural perspective to examine the dynamic and complex interaction process between the dyads.
Autorentext
Qian Wang, Ph.D., works at School of Media and Design at Shanghai Jiaotong University, Shanghai, China. She got her B.A. and M.A. from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, and her Ph.D. in Health Communication at Purdue University. Her research interest includes doctor-patient relationship, anti-smoking campaigns, and food safety issues.
