Domestic violence: how long will we put up with it?
Details
This book analyzes domestic violence and its relation to the Maria da Penha Law. Society is complicit with domestic violence and it has always been treated with disregard. Many women are victims of domestic violence, but few have the courage to denounce it. The women who denounce are called "sluts" by society in general. The situation of the women who denounce is based on the following dichotomy: identification with the system that shelters them and, at the same time, resentment of not being accepted by this same system. The choice of topic is justified because domestic violence against women is one of the most common forms of violence and yet one of the most invisible, being one of the most practiced and least recognized human rights violations worldwide.
