Douglas Municipal Airport is a public airport located two miles (3 km) east of the central business district of Douglas, a city in Cochise County, Arizona, United States. The airport is owned by the city of Douglas. It is not served by any commercial airlines at this time. Douglas Municipal Airport was constructed in 1939 as the Douglas Army Airfield for the United States Army Air Forces. It was under the command of the 461st Army Air Force Base Unit, AAF West Coast Training Center and opened in April 1940. Improvements included 418 buildings, 6 runways, 16 taxiways, a parking apron, 7 hangars, a sewage treatment facility, associated utilities, an ordnance storage area, 2 pistol ranges and a skeet range.
