DRC: investment opportunities in tourism

The exercise of this book consists in presenting the tourist assets that would allow the Democratic Republic of Congo to diversify its economy, which is dominated by the mining industry. The aim is to demonstrate that tourism is a major asset for economic growth. This option requires a strong political will which must be manifested through legislative, administrative and financial reforms. These reforms must put in place an attractive reception framework for investments as well as for visitors from within and outside the country. It is necessary to mobilise substantial investments for the construction and rehabilitation of infrastructures and access roads to tourist sites. Such investments are heavy and inevitably require a public-private partnership. This book has been written to serve as a reference for political and economic decision-makers in the sector, as well as for teachers in tourism schools.
