Details

CKD is associated with a qualitative and quantitative alteration of lipoprotein metabolism in the body, responsible for a highly atherogenic lipid profile, and these disturbances are present from the early stage of CKD.The aim of this study was to investigate the lipid profile of patients and the impact of dyslipidemia during the course of CKD.The lipid profile of CKD patients in Guinea is characterized by mixed dyslipidemia, which is associated with an increased incidence of VCC and mortality. Treatment of dyslipidemia and strict control of other VCDs would improve the renal and cardiovascular prognosis of these patients, leading to a better quality of life.
