E-banking in Bangladesh: Vulnerabilities and Securities

Modern banking is merely impossible without proper digitization. Nowadays, bank customers want low cost and inclusive financial transactions. Bank ensures it through electronic banking (e-banking) by using intelligent devices. E-banking experienced huge growth in many countries as well as in Bangladesh. The banking sector has recently transformed its operational mode and traditional banking practice by introducing e-banking system. Commercial banks have been providing services to their valued customer and processing all information by using ICT. But this technology sometime experiences serious vulnerabilities and threats which can paralyze the whole system and invite risks. The major objective of the study is to examine e-banking security vulnerabilities of the commercial banks and see its impact on different areas of banking like core risk, customer satisfaction and commercial success of banks here in Bangladesh. Hence, the study observed different results for different banks.

Dr. Nokib has obtained Ph.D. degree in the field of E-banking security vulnerabilities in 2017 and working as a Programmer in the CIB Department of Loan Classification Division, Sonali Bank Ltd. a largest commercial bank in Bangladesh.
