E-ENABLING AS A TECHNOLOGICAL PLATFORM FOR ELECTORAL DEMOCRACY

Citizen participation in elections is one of the key virtues of democracy globally. Traditional methods of political participation like physical political rallies, political candidates and parties engaging citizens on radio and Television talk shows etc. have been the order of the day. However, these have been limited by Governments in power either through legislation, policy formulation and implementation or military intervention in politics. This book therefore, proposes online political participation inform of E- Enabling through Online political chat rooms, online political deliberations, E- Campaigns and E- Activism with internet use, ICT, and social media platforms as an opportunity for citizens and other key electoral stakeholders to actively and effectively engage in elections, politics and leadership.
