Bangladesh has one of the highest levels of seismicity in Asia and world also, it is also potential for the largest earthquake vulnerable region for it's geographical location and geological formation of earth. This work aims to explore the awareness about earthquake preparedness among the student of the university of Dhaka and Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), their belief about earthquake precaution. It also explores the measures of earthquake preparedness to reduce damage and losses in their home or residents. A gender dimension and institutional dimension is also explained here. Here explain the significant knowledge difference between male and female respondent, and the respondents from University of Dhaka and the respondents from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. Various measures for earthquake preparedness in household are also mentioned here.It will helpful for people to arrange their household to reduce earthquake related risks.
