Earthworm diversity of Sirohi district of Rajasthan

Earthworm resources have been recognized as the foundation for sustainable livelihood and food security. The importance of earthworms at this stage cannot be ignored because they have enormous potential to improve soil conditions on a sustainable basis. A number of earthworm species have been reported from different parts of India but the work on the semi-arid area of Rajasthan like the Sirohi district is too meager to reach any conclusion. The present research aims to study the biodiversity of earthworm species and their species-habitat relationship in the Sirohi region of Rajasthan.

Dr. Suresh Kumar did his M.Sc. in Zoology in 2004. He has awarded Ph. D. from J. N.V. Uni. Jodhpur in 2016. Mostly the area of research interest is biodiversity and its vital role in the environment. He has published several research papers in national and internationally reputed journals.
