Economic and financial situation of industrial service companies

The research was aimed at the study of financial methods and indicators applicable to industrial services and civil works companies to support the analysis of the economic-financial situation of industrial services and civil works companies. The theoretical construct was based on Estupiñan and Estupiñan (2006), Gómez, Cáceres, (2002), Gómez (2006), Delgado (2007), and Guajardo (2005). As an instrument for data collection, a semi-structured interview script of 24 questions was applied to three finance personnel of the industrial service and civil works company CHEINSA S.A., and an analysis of the financial methods and indicators was also carried out. The results yielded information on the important indexes for decision making, in addition to a study of these indexes. It was concluded that the analysis methods are not applied and the most important indicators for the decision making process are not used, therefore they do not know at a particular moment the true economic-financial situation of the business.
