Economic Diplomacy in Nigeria
Details
Economic Diplomacy in Nigeria: A study of Strategies and Dynamics is collapsed into seven chapters. It discusses the background that led to the paradigm shift from undue political issues to economic issues in Nigeria's foreign policy in 1988. The strategies employed are attracting foreign investments, debt relief request and export promotion. Findings revealed that very little success has been achieved, due to lack of political will from its leadership. That Nigerian leadership sees the policy as an instrument primarily for winning Western economic and political confidence in the country, hence it remained dependent on the West. The book however made a lot of suggestions for improvement, more so when all administrations till now still believe in economic diplomacy. By its contents, the book is an invaluable resource that will scientifically beneficial to students, teachers, policy makers and the general public.
