Economical & Political Empowerment of Women

Women empowerment increases the ratio of political equality, which includes not only the equal rights to franchise but also the more important rights to gain access to the formal institutionalized centers of power. It is often strongly argued that education is a powerful tool in the empowerment of women. Economic independence or self generated income is considered as the major means of empowerment of women. Thus, the prevailing value system has put so many hurdles on the path to women s equality through economic empowerment. Empowerment of women is a complicated and uphill task, to a large extent, women s empowerment will be at the expense of the power that larger sense, men will gain and not loose by the sharing of power with women.
