Ecotourism Development

Ecotourism can be defined as a type of tourism that is carried out without harming the environment, ensures the sustainability of the natural environment and contributes to the socio-economic development of the local people. Today, with the increase in transportation opportunities and the level of welfare around the world, the tourism sector has shown a serious growth. At this point, nature tourism, which is a sub-field of tourism, has also become one of the fastest growing types of tourism. However, in this type of tourism made to untouched natural places, if the necessary care is not taken, it will be inevitable that the natural environment will be damaged. In this regard, more research is needed to focus on the sustainable tourism development in the different regions of the world. Therefore, this book aimed to determine the impact of ecotourism on the local community in the Al Dakhliya region, Oman.
