Educational Demo Reel in Mathematics for Learners with Special Needs

This study aimed to develop Educational Demo Reel in Mathematics for Learners with Special Needs based on the results of the survey on the level of proficiency of learners with intellectual disability in performing functional academic skills. Following the Research and Development (R & D), this study involved 10 teachers who assessed the level of proficiency of 100 learners with intellectual disabilities from the five Special Education schools in the province of Ilocos Norte, fifteen content experts who evaluated the content validity, and nine special education and teachers who assessed the level of acceptability. The data were gathered using a Survey Tool on Level of Proficiency in Performing Functional Academics in Mathematics, Content Validation Rating Scale, and Acceptability Rating Scale. Frequency, percentage and mean were used to analyze and interpret the data gathered. Results revealed that the learners were still on the developing stage in performing functional academics in Mathematics. This means that they posses the minimum knowledge and skills but need help throughout the performance of arithmetic tasks.
