Effect of different pre-sowing treatments in potting media

The experiment was laid out in a Completely Randomized Design(CRD) with four treatments replicated four times, each treatment with four medium size polythene pots (4x4x4=64 pots) that is 2 pots of each X. americana and V. doniana seedlings. The results indicated that soaking X. americana and V. doniana seeds in normal tap water for 24hrs should be adopted for quick germination and early seedlings growth of yellow plum and black plum by breaking the seed dormancy to produce more seedlings in nurseries by researchers/foresters for more seedlings multiplication, in plantations for food production, employment, control of soil erosion and to save the crop from extinction.
