Effect of Different Selenium Sources on Performance of Sohagi Lambs

Selenium is arguably the naturally occurring trace element of greatest concern worldwide. In excessive amounts it can lead to toxicosis and teratogenesis in animals, while the impact of selenium deficiency can be even more significant. This book describes the effect of different Selenium source on performance of Sohagi lambs, and also discusses the effect of Selenium on feed efficiency and nutrients digestibility coefficients. . In addition, it covers the presence of Selenium element in feeds, as either contaminants or as nutritional or zootechnical additives, and their effect of Selenium on the whole-blood selenium concentration and the tissue concentration of selenium in lambs. Also discussed the effect of Selenium on the whole-blood GSH-Px activities and plasma concentrations Interleukin-1 and Interleukin-2. Also, this book provides information on the effect of selenium on the meat.
