Effect of Economic Growth on Poverty in Nigeria

There is no objection to the fact that incidence of poverty has affected millions of people in Nigeria despite the fact that there has been an appreciable increase in the economic growth of the country. The aim of this work is to re-investigate the effect of economic growth on poverty. Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) Model was used in the empirical analysis to capture short and long term effect on poverty of economic growth both agricultural GDP and Non-agricultural GDP.
