Effect of Magnetic Field and Body Acceleration on Fluid Flows

Exposure to magnetic field provides many medical benefits like decrease healing time for fractures, increase speed of nerve generation, act as treatment for depression etc.Long time exposure of human body to external accelerations may lead to serious health hazards.Controlled accelerations can be used for therapeutic treatments.Catheter tool devices are used in clinical procedures to measure cardic output,blood velocity,to diagnose and treat various arterial diseases.Catheter insertion alters the flow and introduces errors in values recorded in the attached transducers. Abnormal growth in the lumen of an artery called stenosis disturbs normal blood flow which leads to hypertension, myocardial infarction, paralysis etc. In this book the mathematical modelling of problems pertaining to dispersion of solutes in blood flows using the influence of magnetic field and body acceleration, blood flow through a catheterized artery with (without) stenosis subject to external acceleration are analysed. The analysis of the mathematical models shall be useful to physicians in their investigations and to researchers who are studying blood flows in cardiovascular system.
