Effect of Psidium guajava Supplemented Diet on the Growth and Haematological Parameters of Fish Labeo rohita

Fish meal is extensively used in formulation of aqua feeds. Dry fish meal is an excellent source of protein yet it is expensive. Growth, health and reproduction of fish is primarily depend on adequate supply of nutrients through feed, irrespective of the culture system in which they are grown. The potential use of unconventional feed ingredients such as plant leaves, as feed inputs as a replacement of high cost fishmeal has been increasing. Herbs have an attention as a possible alternative protein source for cultured fish. The use of leaf extract as supplementary diets have been reported positive growth performance in fish. In this circumstance, this book provides a comprehensive information pertaining to the dietary effect of Psidium guajava on the growth and haematological parameters of fish Labeo rohita to the wide array of readers and researchers.
