Effect of Pterocarpus santalinus extracts on Diabetes

The prevalence of Diabetes is increasing drastically and researchers are working to find a safe herbal alternative without any side effects to manage diabetes. The present work is also planned to test the efficacy of Pterocarpus santalinus against diabetes. This plant is used by tribals of India for treating specific diseases. In this study, the leaves were extracted in different solvents and the effects were seen in rats induced with diabetes by streptozotocin. The results showed a significant effect on managing diabetes with the plant extract.
