Effectiveness of Malojillo Plant as Antibacterial

The use of medicinal plants is a valid alternative to face the process of health and disease, a practice that is reinforced by the fact that they are medicines of proven effectiveness for man, who uses the elements that nature provides to prevent and cure their diseases, with the search for substances with antibacterial and antifungal activity. It is important to find effective therapeutic alternatives against infections caused by microorganisms resistant to antibiotics, as is the case of the substances found in the malojillo plant (Cymbopogon citratus). The aforementioned plant possesses important antibacterial properties due to its chemical composition. For medicinal use, the essential oil extracted from it is used, which has antibacterial properties, that is, it kills or slows the growth of bacteria.
