Efficacy of drug combinations against XDR Pseudomonas aeruginosa

The ever dynamic world of microbes is constantly posing challenges to human community. The current threat of multiple drug resistance is making the bilateral existence even more costly and complicated. Even worse is the smooth spread of this resistance across continents due to the ease of human mobility in global village. The idea of antimicrobial combinations has been exploited to slow down and limit the harmful effects rendered by such resistance.Pseudomonas species being the major contributor towards the healthcare associated infections have been found somehow responsive to the combination therapy. The magnitude of threat however warrants that any possible avenue that can be tapped need to be considered and actuated. The hopeful results of this project and the intricacies of the equilibrium between humans and the microbes though keep the battle open between the parties. The readers of this book would find it interesting that sometimes a little breakthrough is very precious and keep the motivation on. More fascinating is the fact that the drugs are just one aspect to counter this resistance, the critical role would be played by the cultural and social makeover.
