Electroneurographic parameters in patients with metabolic syndrome

Metabolic syndrome is a modern day epidemic with high prevalence among the population of developed countries. It is characterized is excessive waist circumference, hypertension, high blood sugar and imbalance in the lipid status. The consequences are present in the vascular and nerve structures, leading to dysfunction of almost all organ systems. The onset usually has no symptoms, and over time there is a serious and often irreversible damage to the affected organs. This book describes the diagnostic procedures and evidence - based conclusions, which shed light on the enigma called neuropathy in patients with metabolic syndrome, regardless of whether they have high blood sugar or normal glucoregulation.
