Emerging Issues On Sustainable Urban Development

The construction industry responds well to the Government's National Green Technology Policy with more developers launching green townships, green building and more eco tourism park been constructed from day to day. It is a trend today that more consumers will include Green Technology as one of the items on their checklist for premium housing scheme. Along with the establishment of the Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water, it is an important statement of intent on government transformation toward greener effort and energy sustainability that has become a key focus of the national agenda. This book chapter has compiled numbers of papers that revolving around the key issues of sustainable urban development. The authors hope this book chapter will give researcher a better understanding of the emerging issue on sustainable development. Prof. Dr. Tahir has a PhD in Civil Engineering from University of Warwick, United Kingdom. He is currently the director of Construction Research Centre, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. He has published more than 100 journals and proceedings.
