Emotional Intelligence in Teaching: Enhancing Educator Effectiveness

This book explores how emotional intelligence (EI) influences teacher effectiveness in higher secondary schools. It finds that teachers generally have high EI and effectiveness. Gender and specialization impact EI levels, with females and certain subject teachers scoring higher, while factors like school location, experience, and age show little effect. Teacher effectiveness, however, varies significantly by age but not by gender, location, or specialization. A moderate positive link between EI and effectiveness highlights the need for emotional skills in teaching. The study suggests workshops, training programs, and awards to improve EI, leading to better teaching and student success.
