Employee Empowerment for Organisational Effectiveness - A Comparative Study of SBI and ICICI Bank consists of 7 chapters. The first chapter is an Introductory: introduction to employee empowerment, evolution, types, methods of empowerment and related aspects. The second part is a portrayal of Global banking and the Indian banking industry along with select banks. The third part is Study Design and Methodology; which unveils the literature review, statement of the problem, research gap, need and significance of the study, research objectives and hypothesis, research design, and methodology. The fourth part is about Job Autonomy, Employees Performance and Organizational Effectiveness: analyses role of Job Autonomy on Employees' Performance and its impact on Organizational Effectiveness in select banks. The fifth part examines the effect of Training and Rewards on Employee Performance and Organizational Effectiveness among select banks. The sixth part scrutinizes impact of Communication and Culture on Employee Performance and Organizational Effectiveness in select banks, and final part presents the summary of findings followed by suggestions, conclusion, and scope for future research.
