Employee Perceptions of High Involvement Work Practices and Burnout
Details
Burnout is a worldwide problem which affects a large proportion of the working population, particularly those working in the helping profession. Burnout is particularly rife in the health care context, mainly because of the serious and excessive demands health care employees face on the job. With this rising problem, academic and practitioners have sought to determine how best to alleviate burnout. The present book proposes that perceptions of high involvement work practices play an instrumental role in alleviating burnout among health care professionals. Moreover, the book tests the underlying mechanisms which explain how this process occurs.
