Empowerment Unit Plan for Haitian Restavek Children

My research goal was to create an empowerment educational unit of study for 8-12 year old Restavek girls that can be implemented in a Haitian village. This curriculum targets 8-12 year old Restavek girls because the majority of Restaveks are female and by the age of 8 if the child has not attended school, there is little chance she can catch up. Lesson plans were created spanning a one week time frame. Lessons included consist of empowerment, personal hygiene, relationships, emotions, and safe places. Remembering that Haiti has limited resources, the activities were created for materials that can be easily accessed in Haiti or brought down with a group going to implement the curriculum
