Endodontic Mishaps

Endodontic practice is not risk-free, a variety of technical accidents can complicate root-canal treatment, influencing the prognosis and prejudicing the chances of success. Every treatment carries potential risk versus benefits. A significant complication, leading to extraction of a tooth would be root fracture or an irreparable perforation. Mishaps such as instrument breakage or transportation of the centre of a given root canal can also have a negative impact on the outcome of treatment. Root Canal therapy fails due to micro leakage and bacterial infection. The precise cause of endodontic failures can be attributable to inadequacies in three-dimensional cleaning, shaping and obturation.
