Energy Management in Industries

The aim of this research project was to investigate how industries in the Ponta Grossa region deal with energy management. It was based on the Brazilian energy scenario, with the industrial sector being responsible for the consumption of almost half of the electricity supplied in the country, which has now become one of the most essential consumer goods for society. In order to achieve the objective proposed in this research, the deductive method was used, followed by descriptive research. With regard to the problem, a quantitative approach was used. As a research technique, the procedure adopted was a survey targeting the industries of Ponta Grossa, where a questionnaire was applied to 10 industries. The questionnaire contained 15 objective questions and 2 descriptive questions to question professionals from the companies chosen, with the aim of collecting data and information pertinent to analysing and concluding the scenario under study. With regard to the theoretical basis, the themes of energy efficiency, energy and the environment and the industrial scenario were researched. The results of this research will help to promote the importance of environmental awareness.
