English for Evangelical Theological College Students
Details
Not much is done in terms of designing appropriate English language teaching materials that address the needs of the institutions, teachers, and most of all, the students, at Evangelical Theological Colleges. Often, the same materials produced with students of other disciplines in mind are employed in these institutions resulting in ineffective teaching and learning of English. Syllabus designers and material writers would make use of the findings of this study in their attempt to design appropriate syllabus and, ultimately, teaching materials for students of Evangelical theological colleges in Ethiopia. The book also enables ESAP teachers at the colleges to have a better understanding of their students wants in learning English other than those required by the study situation, their lacks and preferred ways of learning. Besides, the book serves as a reference for other ESP researchers in terms of employing contemporary approaches to needs analysis in the process of designing and implementing effective teaching and learning of English language.
