English for Specific Purposes

This book reviewed a number of key aspects relevant to the field of English for Specific Purposes (ESP). These theoretical perspectives have first highlighted the concept and the importance of ESP followed by a brief discussion of its main types, characteristics, approaches to ESP courses, syllabus design and materials development. They also shed light on the role of ESP practitioners and the importance culture and authenticity in language teaching.

Awicha BENABDALLAH is an ESP senior lecturer at the Higher School of Management, Tlemcen Algeria. She has taught Business English for more than nine years. Her lines of investigation cover several issues related to EFL in general and ESP in particular such as course design, pedagogical materials development, culture and foreign language learning.
