English language Needs Analysis

English is one of the widely spoken and written languages in the world. The end of World War II coupled with United States advancement in science and technology accelerated the need for English language teaching in general and English for specific purposes in particular. (ESP), English for specific purposes, as the name indicates is a purpose driven English meant to serve particular purpose in specific disciplines. As many authors in the field of ESP agree, need analysis is always at the heart of ESP in designing appropriate course materials for learners in specific contexts. Thus, this book entitled "English Language Needs Analysis" has a great importance for course material writers, curriculum designers, researchers and students in English language teaching in general and English for specific academic purposes in general.

Haile Kassahun Bewuket is an English Language teacher in Debre Markos University. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Foreign Language and Literature (English) from Addis Ababa University and Masters Degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from the same institution. Currently, Haile is a Ph.D. student in Addis Ababa University.
