Entomology and Pest Control

This text covers a brief discussion of the effect of pest attacks on crops and how to control them..Various thresholds of pests concepts are covered. Insect classification, Morphology, Reproduction. Growth are described briefly. Control methods including Integrated Pest Control (IPC) are covered. Certain pest situations and the use of cultural methods as means of control are included. Pesticides , their formulations, mode of action, methods of application are included. The text is primarily written as a guide for students in Polytechnics undertaking courses in Environmental Biology.
