Epigenetics is a rapidly developing science which studies the heritable genetic alterations in the phenotype of an organism without changing the DNA sequence. Epigenetic modifications are produced by three important methods such as DNA methylation, Histone modification and RNA interference. Various advanced techniques are now available to study the epigenetic modifications in the plants and animals. Bisulfite sequencing, DamID and MSAP profiling are most widely used methods to analyse the epigenetic modifications.
