Epithelial Mesenchymal Transition and Mesenchymal Epithelial TransitionMost of the adult tissues and organs arise from a series of conversions of epithelial cells to mesenchymal cells, through the epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT) and the reverse process which is mesenchymal to epithelial transition (MET).This book highlights the role of EMT which is a recognized mechanism for dispersing cells in embryos, forming fibroblasts or mesenchymal cells in injured tissues, and initiating invasive and metastatic behavior in epithelial cancer cells. It gives a detailed knowledge about cellular events, mechanism and molecular basis of EMT and MET. This book aims to help readers and researchers to know about clinical utility and begin to investigate MET as one of many potential therapeutic targets in the prevention of metastases.
