Ernest "Ernie" Harper (2 August 1902 9 October 1979) was an English athlete who competed for Great Britain in the 1924 Summer Olympics, in the 1928 Summer Olympics, and in the 1936 Summer Olympics. He was born in Chesterfield and died in Rosebud, Australia. In 1924 he finished fourth in the individual cross country event. He was the only British finisher in this race therefore the British team was unplaced in the team cross country competition. In the 10000 metre contest he finished fifth. Four years later he finished 22nd in the 1928 Olympic marathon.
