The main causes which are triggering the extinction of this species are habitat degradation and exposure to harmful disease. More importantly, scientists have underlined that the African wolf has a rare gene type which seem to be to weak to be immunized against the multiple diseases. It has also been found that unlike other wolves, the Ethiopian wolves are very selective about their partners. As a matter of fact, their gene type remains rare since they hardly mix their genes and tend to socialize only within their groups. Hence, scientific researchers have stated that these wolves are usually spotted in isolated places, far away from the Red fox and other wolves...
