Details
This book shows that "Ethnicity" refers to a sense of belonging towards a group of people on racial, linguistic, cultural, religious, or geographical grounds, and other reasons are required to describe ethnicity. The collapse of the United Front administration in the late half of a 1970s, mainly the result of internal and foreign crises, was indeed a windfall for the opposition party, the United National Party (UNP). The UNP won a landslide win in the 1977 election, and the First Republic constitution was replaced by the 'Gaullist model' constitution recognized as the Second Republic Constitution, whereby establishes the executive presidency with all state authority. This study has an importance towards students and educators at secondary and university level to identify the causes and strategies implemented by the Sri Lankan government to resolve ethnic issues. This study helps both educators and students in bringing awareness with the strategies which was implemented by the government that the civil war does not bring any good towards a country with huge population and would affect the people of the country itself.
