Ethnographic & Health Profile of Four Tribal Communities in Tamil Nadu

This book is an attempt to study health care practices and Ethnomedicine of tribes of Tamil Nadu in relation to their ecological and Socio-cultural determinants. The term Ethnomedicine or tribal medicine denotes the medical beliefs and practices of tribes that have evolved in their own cultural and ecological settings. A cross-cultural analysis of the initiation of the medical functionaries with the mode of their knowledge and approach made in the study.

I am a trained Anthropologist, completed Post Graduation and Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Anthropology, Department of Anthropology, University of Madras, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, INDIA. I have gone through the course of my academic research, projects, field study and contributed greatly to ethnographic research conducted by the University of Madras.
