It is found in the dry inland areas of Australia The wingspan is about 70 mm. Adults have brown wings with a complex pattern of light and dark lines and markings. The underside of the wings is pale brown, with a broad dark brown submarginal band, and a dark spot in the centre of the wing.The larvae feed on Geijera parviflora. A moth is an insect closely related to the butterfly, both being of the order Lepidoptera. Moths form the majority of this order; there are thought to be 150,000 to 250,000 different species of moth (about ten times the number of species of butterfly), with thousands of species yet to be described.
