European Union Pre-Accession Funding in Croatia

In order to help candidate and potential candidate countries meet the criteria for accession to the European Union and to contribute to european cooperation and integration, the EU has developed a vast array of financial instruments. These are known as EU funds. This book provides practical information on EU humanitarian programs used in Croatia from the 1990s until 2000 and gives information on pre-accession and Community programs used from 2001-2009. It also outlines indicative financial allocation data for each of these programs. Special emphasis is placed on the IPA assistance program for its importance as the current pre-accession instrument, which will remain active until Croatian accession to the EU.

Dario Borovic was born in Rijeka, Croatia. After obtaining a Bachelor's degree in economics, he earned his Master's degree in Advanced European & International Studies from the Institut Europeen des Hautes Etudes Internationales in France. Currently, he is specializing in EU law, economics and politics at the European College of Parma in Italy.
