The assessment of middle school students is a series of interactions between the teacher and the students. The doctoral research presented in this book focuses on the role of the students. Using the new notion of evaluative awareness (specific to each student), it shows the existence of gaps between the intentions of the teacher who organizes an evaluation and the perception that each student has. She shows the importance of the test statement and encourages teachers to be cautious when interpreting their students' performances: with another statement, would the results observed have been the same?
